Let it rain! Let it pour!

I am constantly reminded how fortunate I am by listening to the rain this morning.

We take life so serious, we forget to stop and smell the rain instead of grumbling as we drive through it. Do you realize the rain helps grow the agricultural crops necessary to provide nourishment to our beloved country? Without moisture, and I use that word solely on some states get melting snow instead of rain, we would not be able to raise the quantity of food to feed our ever-growing country.

Stopping, or at least slowing down, to see a historic marker with a friend on a weekend road trip will educate you more than any social media outlet in the same amount of time. Try it. Next time you are driving, make it a point to stop and read a sign. I promise it won't disappoint.

Keep the rain a pouring and your souls soaring!

Un-American Airlines

As I am sitting here thinking about my summer schedule for work and my few pleasure travels, I am reminded again how evil, cruel and stupid this world is.

I was booking a flight to Denver, Colorado through American Airlines (AA.com) and made a simple mistake of booking the wrong departure city. All I needed to do was change the city, not the date, which mind you was a month away. They not only charged me an additional $150 to change it, they would not even refund the flight after I cancelled it! 

So to sum it all up, I purchased a ticket online. Cancelled the same ticket. Got charged $150 for cancelling my own flight a month in advance. Now, they are not rescheduling my flights as it was my error to place the flight in the first place. 

I usually don't complain too much because turnabout is fair play. However, being charged for something I did myself is ridiculous! It is not like they had strenuous hours laboring over my cancellation. I DID IT! In two minutes online, mind you. 

As you start arranging your summer plans and flights, make darn sure you select the correct flights, and if you make an error, don't let the first one be booking with American Airlines. They have horrid flights and even worse customer service. 

Fly SOUTHWEST and pick your seat.
